Six bids for Ljubljana Airport's new terminal
NEWS FLASH
Fraport Slovenia, the operator of Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, has received six bids from contractors for the construction of its new multi million euro terminal, of which three have been shortlisted. The deadline for the submission of bids, initially scheduled for November 15, was extended on two occasions. Talks with the three remaining contractors will begin soon and the winning bid will be selected after the new year. Construction is due to begin in 2019 and scheduled for completion in 2020. The new facility will be located to the north-west of the existing terminal. The two will be joined to form a single functioning unit. The tender documents require for the contractor to build the new structure, undertake partial construction work in the existing terminal, build road infrastructure around the new facility and partially demolish the administrative building. The new 10.000 square metre terminal, valued at sixteen million euros, will feature a departures hall with 22 check-in desks, five security lanes, three baggage reclaim carousels, a new baggage sorting area, a large duty free shop, a new premium lounge, as well as new food and beverage facilities.
