PHOTOS: Zagreb Airport opens VIP lounges
NEWS FLASH
Zagreb Airport has opened two new VIP lounges which it says will be “especially important in the next six months, during the Republic of Croatia's presidency of the Council of the European Union”. The lounges, which should not be confused with those used by premium passengers on commercial flights, stretch over a total area of 900 square metres. The first, located in the international departures area, is spread over 215 square metres, while the second is a refurbished VIP lounge used primarily by Croatian government officials and is housed in the general aviation terminal. “This pleasant ambiance will provide a place for relaxation, meetings and media conferences for many officials”, the airport said. The value of the project is estimated at some four million euros and was paid for by the Croatian government as a result of the profit generated from the refinancing of Zagreb Airport's debt (33% of which was collected by the state).
