Belgrade Airport tower construction begins

The construction of Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport’s new control tower has begun this week. Valued at 17.5 million euros, the project involves a new 75-metre, four-level, control tower located next to the existing air traffic control centre, opened in 2010. A two-level flight control centre will also be built at the base of the tower and linked to the air traffic control centre. The facility will be built over an area of 7.500 square metres. The existing control tower at Belgrade Airport, built in 1962, will be closed and repurposed following the completion of the new facility in a year’s time.
