Tuzla Airport outperforms Sarajevo in June
NEWS FLASH
Tuzla Airport has handled more passengers than the country’s busiest in Sarajevo this June. Tuzla Airport welcomed 19.456 travellers, while Sarajevo saw 3.629 passengers. The majority of Tuzla Airport’s operations have been restored following its reopening on June 1 with Wizz Air resuming all of its flights. The low cost carrier launched a new service, to Salzburg, on July 2. On the other hand, airlines are slowly returning to Sarajevo with Austrian Airlines, Air Serbia, Croatia Airlines, Eurowings, Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines and Wizz Air currently maintaining scheduled services, albeit at a reduced volume. They will be joined by Flydubai this week. During the first half of the year, Tuzla Airport handled 108.847 travellers, while Sarajevo processed 143.540 passengers. Both were closed for commercial traffic from April through to June.
