Osijek Airport issues public call to LCCs
NEWS FLASH
Osijek Airport is seeking low cost carriers (LCCs) to launch flights to the city by offering start-up aid. It issued a public call yesterday inviting interested airlines to submit their applications, including the number of routes and frequencies planned, whether operations would be year-round or seasonal, passenger forecasts, the type and amount of incentives required, as well as whether the carrier would be interested in establishing a base in the city. Osijek Airport is currently served by Croatia Airlines and Trade Air, which maintain domestic flights from the city. Over the years, the likes of Wizz Air, Ryanair Air and Eurowings served Osijek. The airport handled 6.626 passengers in 2020, down 85.7% on the year before. The deadline for the submission of interest through the public call lasts until February 28.
