Dubrovnik Airport handles two-millionth passenger

NEWS FLASH

Dubrovnik Airport welcomed its two-millionth passengers of the year over the weekend, who arrived on British Airways’ service from London. During the first three quarters of the year, Dubrovnik Airport handled 1.881.850 passengers, representing a decrease of 24.9% on the same period during the pre-pandemic 2019 or some 623.000 fewer travellers. Dubrovnik Airport is looking to put a greater focus on reducing seasonality and increasing flights during the winter months. The airport’s General Manager, Viktor Šober, said, “Winter connectivity will be one of our priorities, however, in order to be more efficient, we will definitely need to improve synergies with the Tourist Board of Dubrovnik and the City of Dubrovnik in our negotiations with airlines. During the 2022/23 winter season, Dubrovnik Airport should be linked to four international destinations - Athens with Aegean Airlines, Istanbul with Turkish Airlines, Barcelona with Vueling and London with British Airways”. Furthermore, Freebird Airlines Europe has been maintaining charter flights from Dubrovnik to Central and Western Europe since late September. They will run until early December of this year, after which they will resume in February 2023.
