Air Serbia to wet-lease A330-200
NEWS FLASH
Air Serbia will wet-lease a Wamos Air Airbus A330-200 aircraft for a short period in November to maintain its Belgrade - New York service. The airline’s own jet of the same type, registered YU-ARB, will be undergoing scheduled maintenance, while its second wide-body aircraft is expected to arrive in Belgrade later on. As a result, in order to avoid flight cancellations, the airline will be using Wamos Air’s 241-seat aircraft from November 8 until November 20. Registered EC-NUI, the fourteen-year-old jet has 34 seats in business class and the remaining 207 in economy. The business cabin features a 2-2-2 layout with 62-inch pitch, while the economy cabin is in the regular 2-4-2 configuration. Pitch in economy stands at 32 inches. All seats are fitted with TV monitors. Air Serbia has concluded similar short-term wet-leases of wide-body jets when its A330-200 had to undergo scheduled maintenance. In January 2019, the airline bridely utilised Etihad Airways’ A330-200 on its New York route, while in October that same year it deployed a Boeing 767-300ER from Portuguese carrier EuroAtlantic Airways.
