Lumiwings launches Tuzla base

NEWS FLASH

Greek carrier Lumiwings established its base in Tuzla yesterday, by stationing a Boeing 737-700 aircraft in the city and launching flights to Skavsta and Halmstad, which will be followed by the introduction of services to Maastricht today, and Saarbrucken and Esbjerg on Wednesday. The flights come after Lumiwings was the only carrier to apply for local subsidies to station an aircraft in the city, following the closure of Wizz Air’s Tuzla base in September this year. Overall, Lumiwings will operate twenty weekly Tuzla flights (both directions included), offering 2.980 weekly seats on the market. “Considering the very limited time since tickets went on sale, we are very pleased with the number of passengers handled during the first day of operations. This is a great benefit, above all for our citizens living in Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands, which will now have the opportunity to travel at affordable fares”, the General Manager of Tuzla Airport, Dževad Halilčević, said. Lumiwings is expected to introduce additional new routes out of Tuzla, with an announcement possible as early as next month. Tuzla Airport will boast 28.310 seats on the market in January, down 59.8% on the same month in 2023.
