TUI eyes Slovenia for MRO facility

TUI Airlines Engineering, the maintenance and engineering arm of the TUI Airlines Group, recently engaged in further discussions with the Slovenian government, building on a prior meeting held in October. The Slovenian Ministry for Infrastructure said, “Similar to the previous meeting, which took place on October 3, 2023, TUI held a presentation of their company,putting an emphasis on cooperation with the aim of setting up an aviation maintenance organisation (MRO) in Slovenia. The company intends to expand its aircraft maintenance activities in the coming years, so Slovenia is of potential interest to them. During their previous meeting, TUI expressed interest in building and operating a maintenance base at Maribor’s Edvard Rusjan Airport. TUI Airlines Engineering provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services to the airline group's combined fleet of over 140 aircraft.
