TRIP REPORT: Air Serbia, Ljubljana - Belgrade

TRIP REPORT

Written by Željko Antić

For my end of year holiday, I decided to visit Ljubljana for the first time and spend my last day of 2023 in the city. From Ljubljana I was continuing to Belgrade on the 2nd of January on flight JU191 scheduled to depart at 9:40 AM. The one-way ticket in light tariff was bought on 6th of December for 80 euros. On the morning of the flight there was a heavy fog in Ljubljana, so I departed towards the airport ready for a possible delay or flight cancellation.

There were quite a few flights departing that morning, so the airport terminal was relatively busy. The information boards indicated that the flight from Belgrade would arrive slightly ahead of scheduled time, which made me confident that my flight would also depart on time.

The check-in was smooth and efficient. The airport is small, which makes it easy to navigate through the terminal. The duty-free shop is large and well stocked with local products. However, I found the offer of food and beverage outlets underwhelming. The toilet in terminal B was not really clean and, on that morning, only one water tap was working. There was no line in front of passport control, so I was fast to clear immigration.

Boarding started on time and the whole process was efficient and well organized. As usual, the flight was operated with one of the ATR72-600, and today this was YU-ALX. For the first time on the ATR, I was assigned an emergency exit seat, which made this flight even more special. Purely, based on my personal estimate, around 70% of seats were occupied on this flight.

Upon short taxi we were airborne and had some stunning views of the Slovenian Alps. The on-board service on this flight consisted of Noblice cookie and a bottle of water. The rest of the flight was uneventful. The cabin crew was absolutely amazing, and I would particularly like to mention Aleksandar who did a brilliant job on this flight.

We arrived in Belgrade ahead of schedule.
