Belgrade Airport registers busiest quarter

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport has registered its strongest first quarter on record by welcoming 1.035.000 passengers, representing an increase of 3.7%. It marks the first time the airport handled over one million passengers within the first three months of the year. The airport aims to handle 6.2 million passengers in 2019, according to the Serbian Minister for Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlović. "We have projections on how many passengers will be handled, how many new flights we can expect etc", she noted. The President of operator VINCI Airports, Nicolas Notebaert, recently said, "We must now open new routes so we can secure sustainable growth in the coming years". VINCI will release Belgrade Airport's second quarter results on July 12.
