Croatia's second and third busiest airports recorded mixed results in March, although both managed to register their busiest first quarter.
Split Airport welcomed 50.037 passengers last month, representing a decrease of 5.9% on last year. Overall, during the first quarter, the airport handled a record 121.222 travellers, up 3.2%. A number of new carriers are introducing flights to Croatia's second largest city this summer, including Air France, British Airways, Luxair, Ryanair and Laudamotion.

Dubrovnik Airport saw 57.880 passengers pass through its doors last month, an improvement of 21.4%. During the first quarter, 117.968 travellers used Dubrovnik Airport's services, up 24.4%. Dubrovnik is expected to see strong growth in April as it plays host to the 16+1 CEEC - China summit this week, which comprises of sixteen Central and Eastern European nations and China. Croatia Airlines has scheduled an additional five flights between Zagreb and Dubrovnik during the week in order to cater for the increased demand.
