Air Serbia to operate Los Angeles rescue flight

NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia will today operate a rescue flight between Belgrade and Los Angeles, as a result of the coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak. Under flight number JU1, the Airbus A330-200 will depart the Serbian capital at midday. The Los Angeles flight has been chartered for Serbian citizens in the United States, stranded by last week’s closure of Belgrade Airport, and for a number of university students. The jet is expected to return to the Serbian capital tomorrow at 16.40. Rescue flights have been taking place all over the former Yugoslavia in recent weeks, however, at over twelve hours of flying time, the service to and from Los Angeles is expected to be the longest.
