Former head of Tuzla Airport under investigation

The former General Manager of Tuzla Airport, Rifet Karasalihović, is under investigation for fifteen different counts of suspected criminal activity during his tenure between December 2015 and December 2019. The cases relate to the misappropriation of over half a million euros. During Mr Karasalihović’s reign, Tuzla Airport overhauled its terminal building, however, the project was plagued by numerous delays. The slow development of Tuzla Airport’s infrastructure, including the extension of its runway approach lights, continue to be a sticking point with Wizz Air, which handles the bulk of the airport’s traffic.
