EX-YU airports win service awards

NEWS FLASH

Belgrade, Skopje and Zagreb airports have all been recognised at the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) awards in Europe. The awards highlight the world’s best airports as judged by their customers. Airport Service Quality awards are based on the views of customers in 2020. Despite the challenge to collect departure survey responses last year, airports in Europe managed to collect the data and the new hygiene category enabled airports to measure their customer experience with safety and hygiene, crucial during this time.

Skopje Airport received recognition for having some of the best hygiene measures in Europe. It was also awarded as one of the best airports in Europe for service quality in the category between two and five million passengers per year. Zagreb Airport also won an award in the same category. On the other hand, Belgrade won the ASQ award in the category for airports over five million passengers, as well as having some of the best Covid-19 related hygiene measures on the continent.

Commenting on the accolades, the General Manager of operator TAV Macedonia, Metin Batak, said, “We are very happy to hear the good news that ACI-ASQ has awarded Skopje Airport as the best airport by size and region and best hygiene measures by region for 2020. This is the sixth time Skopje Airport is awarded by Airports Council International with the ASQ Award - Best Airport by Size in Europe, which makes us very thankful, honoured and proud of this achievement”. The General Manager of Zagreb Airport, Huseyin Bahadir Bedir, said, “We are extremely proud of the fact that in 2020 we were recognised and rewarded by passengers and customers through the ACI/ASQ survey which measures passengers' satisfaction when it comes to airport services, and for the third year in a row named the best airport in Europe within the group of airports between two and five million passengers”. The General Manager of Belgrade Airport, Francois Berisot, said, “Despite the challenged brought on by the pandemic, Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport managed to conduct surveys relating to airport service quality over two quarters. These awards confirm our commitment to listening to passengers and maintaining quality services, especially in these difficult times”.
