PHOTOS: United touches down in Dubrovnik

NEWS FLASH

United Airlines has inaugurated flights between New York’s Newark Airport and Dubrovnik, linking the two cities for the first time in thirty years. The 214-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft arrived with a full load of passengers. Commenting on the route launch, United’s Vice President for International Network and Alliances, Patrick Quale, said, “Croatia was the first to open for US travellers in Europe, which was the main reason for the route launch. This new service will also enable Croatians to travel via Newark Airport to another 65 destinations in the United States, but it is primarily aimed at brining tourist and tourist dollars to Croatia”. The Mayor of Dubrovnik, Mato Franković, said, "At a time when there is an ongoing health crisis, this is a great success, and we hope to broaden our cooperation. This is a brave move by United Airlines’ management, and they chose the best. We will ensure all guests have a safe stay. Over 90% of workers in the tourism industry have been vaccinated. We are especially happy that we have two airlines launching nonstop flights from New York to Dubrovnik, with Delta Air Lines to arrive on July 3”. United will maintain three weekly flights between the two cities Until October 2.
