Niš eyes scheduled Istanbul service

NEWS FLASH

The Turkish Ambassador to Serbia, Hami Aksoy, has said flights between Niš and Istanbul will be introduced in the coming period following talks between interested stakeholders. The Ambassador did not specify which airline would launch the service. The development comes as Turkey announced the opening of its new consulate in Niš. This summer, Air Serbia operated charters between the south-eastern Serbian city and Antalya. Air Serbia, Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines maintain scheduled operations between the two countries, from Belgrade to Istanbul. A restrictive bilateral air service agreement makes the introduction of new scheduled routes between the two nations difficult.
