Air Astana cancels planned Podgorica flights

NEWS FLASH

Kazakhstan’s national carrier Air Astana has cancelled its planned flights from Almaty and Nur-Sultan to Podgorica this coming winter season. Services from Almaty were to run twice per week, each Tuesday and Sunday, while flights from Nur-Sultan were to operate once per week, on Wednesdays. However, Air Astana pulled the flights and discontinued ticket sales after Montenegro ended its temporary visa waiver for Kazakhstani citizens. The airline introduced operations to the Montenegrin capital this summer, which proved popular with passengers, resulting in Air Astana to increase frequencies and schedule winter flights.
