NEWS FLASH

Split Airport has continued its run as Croatia’s busiest this September and is now certain to maintain the position until the end of the year. It welcomed 328.886 passengers last month, representing a decrease of 30% on the pre-pandemic September of 2019. During the month, Croatia Airlines operated the most flights out of the country’s second largest city, with a 23.5% share. It was followed by easyJet with a 17.7% share and Eurowings, which accounted for 10.8% of all flights. On the other hand, easyJet was the largest carrier based on offered capacity, followed by Croatia Airlines and Eurowings. The most seats were available on flights to Amsterdam, followed by Zagreb, Frankfurt, London Gatwick and Munich. During the first three quarters, Split Airport welcomed 1.363.413 travellers and is still the only one in the country to have handled over one million passengers so far this year. It has now reached 45.9% of its pre-pandemic traffic.
