Air Montenegro shelves planned long-term jet lease

NEWS FLASH

Air Montenegro has cancelled plans to dry-lease an Airbus A320 or Boeing 737 jet for a period between three to eight years for which it issued a public call and will instead conclude a wet-lease agreement for the upcoming peak summer months. Over twenty companies applied for the public call. However, the carrier noted that following detailed analysis of the market and existing circumstances, the company opted for a short-term lease. “We have introduced new destinations and will add frequencies on existing routes because we believe the upcoming summer will be better than last year. For our planned scheduled, the lease of an aircraft with greater capacity is the best solution”, Air Montenegro said. A wet-lease is a leasing arrangement whereby one airline (the lessor) provides an aircraft, complete crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI) to another airline.
