JAT history book to be released
A book commemorating the triumphs and tribulations of Yugoslavia’s national carrier JAT will be released towards the end of March, ahead of what would have been the company’s 75th anniversary on April 1. Written by Jovo Simišić, who had worked for the airline, the 400-page A4 book details the successes, creativity, enthusiasm, failures, political interference and destruction of the once famous brand between 1947 and 2013. “One upon a time at JAT” (Bio jednom JAT) includes, among others, historic photos, biographies of 35 prominent personalities who had a strong impact on the airline’s development, as well as a list of 1.050 aviators who flew for the airline from its foundation until its rebranding in 2013. The book will be released in Serbia at a cost of 3.000 dinars and will be available internationally at a price of 25 euros plus shipping.
