Saudi Arabia’s Flynas touches down in Podgorica
NEWS FLASH
Saudi Arabian low cost carrier Flynas has launched seasonal summer flights between Riyadh and Podgorica, linking the two cities with a scheduled nonstop air service for the first time. Operations will be maintained once per week, each Thursday, until September 1. The Montenegrin government has temporarily lifted visa requirements for Saudi nationals until September 30 in a bid to lure tourists from the Kingdom. “The situation in the world is changing and Montenegro must diversify its market. In that respect, Saudi Araba, which is home to 35 million people, is a big market that has a lot to offer. The introduction of nonstop flights will serve as a catalyst not only for the tourism sector but also economic cooperation between our two countries. We must use this opportunity and I hope our collaboration continues to expand”, the President of the Board of Directors of operator Airports of Montenegro, Eldin Dobardžić, said. He noted that next year could see Flynas complement its Riyadh service with flights from Jeddah while there is also potential for flights to run during the winter due to Saudi interest for North Montenegro and its ski resorts.
