Zadar first Croatian airport to surpass pre-Covid figures
NEWS FLASH
Zadar Airport has become the first in Croatia to outperform its passenger numbers registered during the record 2019. The coastal airport handled 172.941 customers in June, representing an increase of 39.4% on the same month in 2019, or an additional 48.876 travellers. Overall, during the first half of the year, the airport welcomed a record 329.461passengers, up 11.4% on 2019. The growth is primarily being fuelled by Ryanair, which has launched a number of new routes from its seasonal Zadar base and now boasts over forty destinations. “In July and August, we expect 30% more passengers than in June, which means around 220,000 travellers in July and the same number in August. This year will surely be a record one, about 15% - 20% more than in 2019”, Ivan Skelin, the airport’s Manager for Transport and Operational Sector, said.
