Air Serbia has wet-leased one Embraer E195 jet from Air Montenegro for the duration of the 2022/23 winter season, the Montenegrin carrier’s Board of Directors has confirmed. According to a statement from Board member Vuk Stojanović, the 112-seat aircraft will operate for Air Montenegro during the mornings and early afternoons, after which it will be ferried to Belgrade and maintain flights on behalf of Air Serbia during the late afternoon and evening hours. It will enter into service on behalf of the Serbian carrier this evening, between Belgrade and Zurich. According to the “Pobjeda” daily, Air Montenegro, which recently warned the government it may have liquidity issues by next autumn if it is not given additional funding, stands to profit some 900.000 euros from the arrangement. The wet-lease will run until March 25 of next year. A wet-lease is a leasing arrangement whereby the lessor provides an aircraft, complete crew, maintenance and insurance to another airline. Besides Air Montenegro’s E195, Air Serbia is currently wet-leasing an Airbus A319 from Romanian carrier Dan Air.
