NEWS FLASH

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport’s expansion project is continuing to advance with extensive work taking place in the new departures area of the new central processor building, access roads and the A wing of the terminal.

Construction of the new central processor, which stretches over 15.000 square metres, is nearing completion. Recently, the new building was linked to the existing terminal where the security check and passport control area is located on the first floor, while the arrivals area of the new facility was quietly opened in late December. Work is expected to be finalised by the summer. It will enable the airport to boast 100 check-in desks, up to 1.200 square metres of additional retail space and an automated baggage handling system. The project includes the ongoing construction of a viaduct for pedestrians and cars, as well as the expansion of the smaller short-term car park which will be located in front of the terminal. Work continues on the construction of a new floor and overhaul of the final part of the A gates wing. Furthermore, construction of the airport's inserted runway is entering its final phase, with its introduction slated for late February. Following the tender to lease out the once popular “Borik” restaurant located in front of the terminal, work has begun on its overhaul by a popular local food chain.
