Croatia Airlines marks Schengen entry

NEWS FLASH

Croatia abolished internal air border checks on March 26, almost four months after it entered the Schengen Area on January 1. The occasion was marked by Croatia Airlines at Frankfurt Airport, with the service to Zagreb becoming its first Schengen Area operation. Flights between Croatian airports and Schengen Area member states are now considered as domestic services. This means there is no longer border control upon departure and arrival between Croatia and Schengen Area members. The development has resulted in Croatian airports adjusting passenger flows inside their terminals. The delay in implementing the Schengen Area rules at airports was based on a prior agreement between all parties involved for technical reasons.
