Croatia Airlines touches down in Mostar

NEWS FLASH

Croatia Airlines restored operations between Zagreb and Mostar yesterday following an over three-year hiatus. The three weekly service will be maintained with the 76-seat Dash 8 turboprop aircraft. Croatia Airlines’ CEO, Jasmin Bajić, said, “We are delighted that Croatia Airlines aircraft are again linking Mostar and Herzegovina with Zagreb and I would like to thank everyone who has supported this project. We have provided passengers with the fastest possible link to Croatia’s capital, while Croatia Airlines’ Star Alliance membership will enable travellers to connect onto more than 100 destinations across the world. Apart of better public mobility, I am certain that the resumption of these flights will enhance cooperation between our two countries and spur development at Mostar Airport”. Local authorities are subsidising the route with over half a million euros this year. Mostar’s Mayor, Mario Kordić, added, “We have declared Mostar Airport of strategic importance and are aware that good connections via the airport provide a significant contribution and stimulus to the tourism industry and the economy, but also in all other sectors. We insist on establishing new routes. This new scheduled service is a big step forward for us in connecting with European destinations. We will continue to work hard and I am certain that in the coming period we will further strengthen Mostar Airport”.
