Ljubljana Airport charter traffic to reach pre-Covid levels
NEWS FLASH
Ljubljana Airport is expected to handle some 150.000 passengers on charter flights this year, reaching figures achieved in the sector prior the coronavirus pandemic. Babett Stapel, the General Manager of airport operator Fraport Slovenija, said, “Charter traffic is recovering well, and this year it will already reach pre-pandemic levels. By the end of the year, we will count around 150.000 charter passengers who have flown or will fly to 39 holiday destinations. Overall, we will exceed pre-pandemic passenger numbers in 2026, and I can optimistically say that we expect healthy traffic growth from that point on as well”. This winter season, Slovenian tour operators are chartering flights to Jordan, Morocco, the Azores, Tenerife, Cape Verde islands, Mallorca, Malta, Madeira, Porto, Lisbon, Hurghada and Rovaniemi.
