Pristina Airport completes ILS upgrade
NEWS FLASH
Pristina Airport has put into operation its upgraded Instrument Landing System, increasing its category from II to category IIIb. The new system aids with an automated precision approach and landing when the runway visibility is at a distance of no less than fifteen metres and is at a visual range less than 200 meters. The system is expected to improve Pristina Airport’s performance during the winter when it suffers from fog and low visibility which has disrupted its operations in the past on numerous occasions. Late last year, Pristina Airport completed work on the extension of its runway from 2.560 metres to 3.050 metres, adding approximately 250 metres on each end.
