Turkish Airlines sees record Zagreb performance

Turkish Airlines handled 132.611 passengers between Istanbul and Zagreb during the first three quarters of the year, representing its best performance on the route to date, according to the European Commission's statistical office Eurostat. The carrier registered an 11.5% increase in traveller numbers on the same period during the pre-pandemic 2019. Its overall passenger share in the Croatian capital stood at 5.8%. The airline faces no direct competition on the route which is codeshared by its Croatia counterpart. Turkish Airlines operates flights to Dubrovnik in Croatia in addition to Zagreb and has previously considered introducing services to Split. The carrier commenced operations to the Croatian capital back in 1998 with a two weekly service.
