Georgian airports to hold talks with Air Serbia

NEWS FLASH

Airport operator United Airports of Georgia has said it will hold talks with Air Serbia at the ongoing CONNECT Route Development Forum in the Moroccan city of Tangier. The operator highlighted talks with Air Serbia, noting it is an opportunity to launch cooperation between the two. Some 600 delegates from 75 airlines and 280 airports from sixty countries are taking part in the 19th edition of the annual event. Among those present is Air Serbia’s CEO Jiri Marek. In 2019, Georgia and Serbia signed a joint declaration in Tbilisi with the aim of advancing cooperation between the two states. An emphasis was put on the launch of nonstop flights. The matter was discussed in more detail at an Intergovernmental Economic Commission in Tbilisi later on but plans to establish flights were halted by the Covid-19 pandemic. There have never been scheduled nonstop services between the two.
