Sarajevo Airport handles millionth passenger
NEWS FLASH
Sarajevo Airport welcomed its millionth traveller of the year, achieving the milestone for only the fourth time in its history. The figure was reached around a week behind that of last year. It comes after Wizz Air closed its base at the airport in November of 2022, which has resulted in a decline in passenger numbers during much of this year’s summer season. “This is a clear indication that, with great effort, we managed to largely maintain the volume of passengers from the previous year. We are committed to maintaining our successful operations and achieving sound business results", the airport said in a statement. Last year, Wizz Air had the most available capacity at Sarajevo Airport with 465.444 seats on the market (excludes Wizz Air Abu Dhabi). However, this year, Turkish Airlines is the largest carrier, followed by Austrian Airlines and Pegasus.
