Split Airport registers Covid passenger drop

Croatia’s second busiest airport welcomed 16.466 passengers in March, representing a decrease of 67.1% compared to the same month last year. Split Airport was impacted by the coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak. Although the airport has not been formally closed, it no longer has any commercial flights. During the first quarter, Split Airport handled 79.501 travellers, down 34.4% on Q1 2019, although its February figures were impacted by runway work which forced the diversion of some flights to Zadar. So far, Split has shed 41.721 passengers on last year.
